Virtue (Fortitude): Your character regains all spent Willpower points whenever he withstands overwhelming or tempting pressure to alter his goals. This does not include temporary distractions from his course of action, only pressure that might cause him to abandon or change his goals altogether.

Vice (Pride): Your character regains one Willpower point whenever he exerts his own wants (not needs) over others at some potential risk to himself. This is most commonly the desire for adulation, but it could be the desire to make others do as he commands.

Tacoma grew up in the seedier streets of Haven, subsisting on tales of how his ancestors had been powerful nobles and connoisseurs of all of the arts in the days before the Scourge. By the time he reached adulthood, he was quite enamored of the “good old days” of which he’d been told, but instead of feeling sorry that they were gone, he chose to seek the excitement of uncovering whatever remained in the ruins of bygone times. The last words of his father (a Sage specializing in archæology) as he died of a fever were to “Be careful digging up old bones, as some are best left undisturbed.” However, as this seemed so contrary to all the man had taught him, Tacoma assumed he was just delirious and didn’t worry about it. After all, Tacoma’s destiny was to uncover as much of the past as possible.

Tacoma is a small, pale man of unkempt appearance, wearing wire-rimmed spectacles and rough, dusty clothes, often with books and scrolls sticking out of various pockets. Although intelligent, he prefers books and ruins to conversation and is completely out of his element in social engagements. However, between his rough upbringing, his ear for rumors, and his dealings with thieves, smugglers, and fences of artifacts, he is able to work quite well in less reputable areas. He has also tried to develop contacts with the bards and to maintain a relationship with one of his father’s colleagues to help find information about possible sites for exploration.
